Google Adsense for Mobile Launches

Google Adsense™ for Mobile launched yesterday.

What wasn’t announced fully was if the program is different in any way than traditional Adsense. It would also be interesting to understand how Google is exactly defining mobile websites.

As people start to use it, I’m sure these issues will become transparent.

Sites that have been optimized by Google Mobile when visited from Google Reader Mobile (other other Google Mobile products) would probably qualify for mobile AdSense.

    Hi Ed!

I read somewhere that one ad unit is all that is allowed. Since a traditional website is allowed three at present, this would mean this is for WAP or a different css. I’d like to see more clarity so that some publishers don’t run into a problem later.

    Thanks for stopping by!

India unlike other countries in the world ( Germany, US) will land on revolution based on internet on mobile. India has a huge potential for mobile based internet. New and new business models will come up like search and adsense on mobiles.

Currently the limit of 1 Ad Unit per mobile web page seems low to new publishers but considering the dimensions of a mobile screen a single Ad Unit per page is enough for a mobile web page.
