Why? Because they have all the data. To me, mobile search is the same as web search outside of the GUI. Many businesses will have no interest in mobile search since it's not an appropriate venue for advertising highly considered purchases. However, some may find it even more valuable than traditional web search, such as towing services, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Businesses who sell based on impulse decisions to people while they're out and about.
